Counter Timings for Visa, Passport and other Consular servicesa) Application for all passports/consular services (like issue of new/duplicate passports, renewals and miscellaneous services on passports, legalization/attestation of documents) are accepted between 9.00 AM to 12.30 PM only. For application received upto 12.30 PM the services are rendered on the same day. No applications is received after 12:30 PM except in case of emergencies, such as death or illness in the family with payment of Emergency fee. For Emergency Services, please call the following numbers: Saturday 11am-1 p.m. : 312-595-0413, 312-595-0411 The passports and other documents, irrespective of date or time of submission, are delivered between 3.30 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. on working days. This time schedule does not apply to services where prior approval is required from the authorities in India or other countries and new passports and duplicate passports in lieu of lost passports. b) Payments are accepted only in cash or by certified cheques and money orders made in the name of the Consulate General of India, Chicago. Personal cheques are not accepted. c) The enquiries relating to status of your applications already submitted are entertained only between 3.30 PM to 5.00 PM on working days. For better response, please send a fax giving all details viz; when the application was mailed, tracking number and details of service, fee enclosed : on Fax No. 312-595-0418. d) Consulate remain closed on Indian and some US holidays.
