US-Indo Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest
A US-India Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest launched in Chicago on February 10, 2003. The following are the current office bearers of the chamber.

a) Broad Objective: The Chamber of Commerce promote, foster and facilitate greater trade and business between the US and India including two way investment, joint ventures and partnerships. It will also attempt business relationship with similar institutions in the US as well as in India.
b) Geographical Jurisdiction: The focus of the services and activities of the Chamber is limited to the Midwest region.
c) Services:
i) It would facilitate interaction, exchanges and networking between the Indian and American business communities in the Midwest.
ii) It will sponsor business delegations to and from India.
iii) It would create an exhaustive database on importers, exporters, suppliers, possible business partners, joint venture capabilities, business associations, professionals in various fields. etc.
iv) Apart from having the list of the Members and their background information, the Chamber will collect and make available information on similar organizations in the US and India.
v) The Chamber will also facilitate holding of seminars / symposia /business exhibitions /display / bilateral settlement involving both the public and the private sector companies /organizations / experts / individuals from time to time.
vi) It would also offer internship programs at a later stage.
d) Structure:
i) Honorary Chairman / President to head the Board of Directors
ii) A paid Executive director, initially part time, subsequently full time, and an Assistant.
iii) The number of the members of the Board of Directors will, to begin, be 20 which could be expanded later. While the Board would meet quarterly, the Executive committee consisting of five members will meet at least every month.
iv) Criteria for the selection to the Board of Directors: Proven business excellence, experience and competence of the individual, resources at his . her disposal. An individual's terest in and willingness to spare time and efforts for the cause of the Chamber will be a major factor.
e) Membership:
i) Life Membership (individuals) $10,000
ii) Corporate Membership $5,000
iii) Executive Membership (Voting ) $1,000
iv) Associate Membership (Individual) $500
The directors and members of the chamber will be drawn from the 9 states of the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota and Wisconsin).
Membership will be sought through dissemination of information on the web sites/print media, press releases etc. The By-laws and Code of Ethics would be formulated and released separately.
